NACF Statement of PurposeFamilies helping families to build the new civilisation of love. What we are is essentially very simple. We are Catholic families who try to give one another mutual, moral, spiritual and social support in a culture which is now at war with our values. This we do by linking committed Catholic families locally, nationally and internationally but always with the simple intention of mutual support. We are answering the Pope John Paul's call for families to be what they are. The work of the NACF is based on the Catechism of the Catholic Church, Familiaris Consortio, The Holy See's Charter of the Rights of the Family and Evangelium Vitae. These are some of the ways in which we are responding to the Holy Father's appeal to us: HELPING FAMILIES TO GET TOGETHERFamilies meet together at Family Days at which the Holy Father's Prayer for Families is said and a priest or a parent gives a talk on some aspect of Pope John Paul's teachings on the Family. Suitable instruction and activities for the children are organised and the day ends with a prayer of Consecration of our families to Our Blessed Lady. All this takes place in the "presence" of an Icon of the Holy Family. We also share our food, generally enjoy ourselves and by simply being together, we support and encourage one another in the Faith . More details can be found on the NACF website: www.catholic-family.org or in the newspaper "Catholic Family" which is available free to members or at a cost of 50p to non-members
